Back Inaction

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 8, 2009, 10:50 PM

Title Not Mistake
<<><>>-------------------------------------------<<><>>
Well, as some of you may have heard, I've been sick for the past few days.
Nothing serious, just a common cold/flu... probably my own fault for stressing out a bit and pushing myself to finish my recent Halloween contest entry. (didn't think I was pushing myself all that hard, but in hindsight, I did spend more time on it then I usually do.)

Anyway, I'm more or less back up and running, although certainly not running on all cylinders. Still got a nasty headache and all the rest of those wonderful cold/flu aftereffects (not completely recovered from the cold/flu itself either). Certainly feeling good enough to sit at the computer long enough to check messages and write this up, but even here, I'm constantly backspacing to correct spelling mistakes and mistypes. So I'll keep it as short as I can personally manage. (which isn't particularly short.)

Time Out
<<><>>-------------------------------------------<<><>>

If mine life lost before I wake
Pray mine soul to be remake

If mine life spared to see daybreak
Pray wasted time to be retake

I'd imagine the dizziness and deliriousness that comes from a nasty flu-induced migraine is not unlike being high on some sort of drug. Except for the part where you feel like shit for almost the entire time, the strange and confused thoughts that swirl through your head can be rather interesting.
I found myself inspired to create poetry more than once during the past few days; the above Agnostic take on a well-known bedtime prayer is the one thing I was able to commit to memory (and shortly afterwards, paper).

I also had a bunch of weird dreams which refuse to be remembered; mainly because they defied my the logic and physics my mind's eye uses. I think one of them was based on my digital coloring technique.

Anyway, the poem was the one thing that left an impression on me (yes, I wrote something that left an impression on myself; it happens).
I felt pretty awful at a few points, but not "I might die" awful. It's the second line that really meant the most to me.
All this time out of commission, even if it was only a few days, got me thinking about how far I've come, the progress I've made. Or more specifically, the progress I've planned to make but haven't made yet.

So following this "time out", I think I'd like to start focusing a bit more on some of my old goals.
My storyworld of Fragmented Infinity has grown by leaps and bounds in size and scope, but the story itself has yet to make it to writing, or any other medium so far. That's one thing I'd love to focus on; I might actually rough up a comic-style start to the story. I've found some parts incredibly hard to put into words, and others hard to show in images; perhaps a strange hybrid of the two might provide some progress.
(I'd also like to re-do the website, but for now, I'll set that aside as a distraction from the actual story.)

I've been planning to get a job for a long time now, but haven't really put much effort into it. I'm going to try a bit harder on that front I think; at this point, I'm not really picky about the sort of job I get, so I might as well start throwing job applications in every chance I have.

And last but not least, I'd like to focus on myself physically a bit. I've always fantasized about doing backflips and other such stunts, but I lack the physical strength to even do a handstand at the moment. I've always told myself "I'll start working out sometime soon", but after about five years or so, I think I should stop planning for "soon" and just start exercising. (especially with the long boring winter fast approaching. Not to mention, keeping my blood pumping throughout the winter might ward off the inevitable cold/flu I get during the wintertime.)

So there you have it. I want to tell my story to the world. I want to have an income, to support myself and my family. And I want to do kick-ass stunts and shit.

...hmm, at least one of those was my New Year's resolution for the past two years. Two birds with one stone, anyone?

what is the html i would use to put pictures in my jernal??
:iconjioruji-derako:
I think you need to be a subscribed member to be able to put images in your journal, but try this anyway.
<img src="source URL" />
Where "source URL" would get replaced with the image URL. Just preview it in your journal and see if anything happens...
